Serve Jehovah God Forever

Some say love is bound by borders - Some say love is bound by race - But we through God's direction - A brotherhood embrace - Thus a world of love united - Where Jehovah God is found - Where brother will meet brother - And love of God abound - Thus with pleasure I am sending - And with joy I will direct - My message now of welcome - With love and deep respect

"Welcome"

"Welcome"

Some say love is bound by borders
Some say love is bound by race
But we through God's direction
A brotherhood embrace
Thus a world of love united
Where Jehovah God is found
Where brother will meet brother
And love of God abound
Thus with pleasure I am sending
And with joy I will direct
My message now of welcome
With love and deep respect

"From Mother To Daughter"

(1145)

“From Mother to Daughter”

From mother to daughter
Her love has been shown
A bond she was building
That bond has since grown

The words I here offer
Have come from my heart
To her I am speaking
With love on my part

She taught me the meaning
Of love and of joy
And thus through her actions
Those words to employ

And I through the years
That lay yet ahead
Must show by my actions
I heard what was said

So thus with great pleasure
I speak of her care
And also with pleasure
My love of her share

* Heather Brock asked me to write a poem for her friend to read to her mother – she is getting married and wanted something special to read to her mother.

"Memories"

(1141)

“Memories”

My childhood, my memories
The days of my youth
Though short in their passage
How joyous their truth
To walk in the sunshine
Or stroll in the rain
Though years are now missing
Their treasures remain
In the crick I’m wading
Feel the oozing mud
Joy filled precious moments
Nipped now in the bud
Yet the years in passing
Leave the memories clear
And in the years approaching
They’ll yet again appear

*1-08-07 I told Sandy Zelms how kids today needed to know about the fun things of years ago and then I went into rhyme and wrote the above about it. I think one of the things I liked to do the most was walk in the mud barefoot and feel the mud ooze up between my toes.

"There She Will Stay"

(1138)

“There She Will Stay”

A dear friend is missing
You carry such pain
Your tears have been falling
Like hard heavy rain
My words will not cover
The way that you feel
For your pain and sorrow
And suffering are real
Remember with pleasure
Her love and her care
The moments of laughter
The good times you’d share
Her life time of treasures
Her boxes of joy
Her stories, her memories
You got to enjoy
You’ll carry her always
She’s not far away
In your heart she’s resting
And there she will stay.

*1-01-07 Lura’s older friend Polly died and Lura is hurting and missing her. They have been close for years since Lura’s kids were little. I know she will miss Polly so much. I wish I could take away how she is feeling.

"Her Sack"

(1121)

“Her Sack”

Yes my cat is now resting
Within her sack resides
Curled up, warm, content to be
Asleep now deep inside
Through her day and night she stalks
She searches out her prey
Excited thus and chasing
The wonders of her day
Yet when she seeks the darkness
Where safety can be found
She’s in her sack and sleeping
For dreams therein abound
She’s hidden from the shadows
Safe, secure within
And since her sack is “sacred”
I will not peek therein
But soon she’ll wake excited
And will her day attack
And thus with an explosion
She will escape her sack
She’ll once again be lively
Across the room to streak
Yet when in need of safety
That sack once more she’ll seek!

*10-17-06 I have been watching Decyl and she loves to go into her paper sack and sleep for hours. I guess I will always have to have a sack in the living room as she loves sleeping in one.

"Hyperbole"

(1112)

“Hyperbole”

Hyperbole, a symbol
Exaggerated form
A needles eye, a camel
A rafter, straw or thorn
Hyperbole a picture
Is formed with every word
Tis one we will remember
A “portrait” thus is heard
So daily we must listen
To all that will be said
A painting’s clear and present
When
Hyperbole is read!

*9-14-06 About talk Linda Lawson is giving tonight – needless to say it is about Hyperbole – I love that word !

"Mud"

(1109)

“Mud”

Sittin at the work site
Sittin in the rain
Watchin all the boundaries
Hours yet remain
Sittin with my walker
Wonderin what to do
Surrounded by a quagmire
Muddy through and through
But with pleasure watching
All this “mud” and me
Sittin here and guarding
All the mud I see!

*9-11-06 sat at the KH work site and guarded the “mud” this morning for four hours and will go back out again with Shelly Tuttle to watch again this afternoon from 4-8. We will play cards to pass the time.

"A Home of My Own"

(1027)

“A Home of My Own”

A habitat, dwelling
A home of my own!
A key to a treasure
That’s mine, mine alone!
I’ll swing wide the entrance
My heart will take flight
Tis soaring around me
And filled with delight
From room to room gliding
My pleasures abound
I’m lost in contentment
A home I have found!

*12-3-05 watched a program about Habitat For Humanity tonight thus wrote this about it – program about some place called “Little Haiti” in Florida somewhere.

"United As One"

(1020)

“Unified As One”

God so loved his people
Sending forth his son
Working close together
Unified as one
Spoke of life eternal
For this he was sent
Taught his father’s message
And just what it meant
As he went he conquered
All the world, its way
For God’s word and guidance
Daily he would pray
Thus through his example
We too can become
Conquerors of evil
Unified as one!

*10-9-05 about public talk entitled: “No Part of the World in Imitation of Christ”

"Stand Still"

(994)

“Stand Still”
2 Ch 20:17

The fear that now lingers
The world has such woe
Predominate feelings
Of fear that will grow
The end is now present
The conclusion is near
They’re scared and they’re trembling
Their hearts “filled” with fear
For fear is a message
That travels like fire
They’re worried and anxious
Just what will transpire?
They look to the heavens
For guidance to know
But their god is dwelling
On earth here below
When “Jehovah” is present
Though “we’re” filled with fear
Stand still in his presence
Salvation is near
Thus teach all with pleasure
To Jehovah they’ll turn
“Their” fear will be fading
As of him they learn!

*6-12-05 about Monte King’s talk entitled: “Stand Still and See the Salvation of Jehovah!”

"The Sparrow"

(732)

“The Sparrow”

Luke 12:6,7

The lowly little sparrow
We’ve read of in God’s word
A simple little fellow
This tiny little bird
Jehovah thinks him special
Our tiny little friend
Considers him of value
And will his needs attend
So though of greater value
We have been said to be
How do we treat the sparrow
This tiny friend we see?

* 3/26/00 Brother Cramer gave the public talk today at the Hall and used the scripture about the sparrows the one that says about the sparrow ”Not one of them goes forgotten” and about us: “You are worth more than many sparrows” – Lu 12:6,7 and I went into rhyme and wrote the above or at least some of it and finished it tonight.

"The Phantom of The Opera"

(131)

"The Phantom of the Opera"

The writer of the Phantom
Is a genius at his best
He has brought to life a love story
And we are now it’s guest
Seated at his banquet
Surrounded by his word
Music now assails us
The Phantom can be heard
He sings of love so tender
That your heart will ache for him
For his heart is full of sorrow
And his spirit has grown dim
As his life now fades to darkness
His shadow will take flight
For he knows that it’s all over
The music of the night

· I have been listening to the music of the Phantom of the Opera so I wrote this about it. - 5-9-91 – I finally got to see the Phantom of the Opera on Broadway in October of 94 – it was wonderful
* I sent them this poem too

"Voice of My Father"

(201)

“Voice of My Father”

The voice of my father
In song he would sing
The words of endearment
The tears they now bring
He sang to my mother
The words from his heart
He sang to his children
With love on his part
The dance he would sing of
The Tennessee Waltz
A voice that was tender
With all of its faults
He loved to sing sad songs
Or funny or grand
For You Are My Sunshine
Was sung by this man
And he was my father
I do miss him still
And old country music
Will make my heart fill
For he loved the old songs
And gave them his best
And I hear him singing
In my heart it rests

5-20-92 they had a Country Music Hall of Fame show tonight and sang “The Tennessee Waltz” and “You Are My Sunshine” and I got emotional thinking about Dad – so I wrote the above poem about him - I remember him singing in the car driving somewhere and I loved to hear him sing.

"Turtle Lover"

(228)

"Turtle Lover"
Wm. McKinley

Here lies a turtle lover
He helped us cross the road
He stopped amidst the traffic
To help us with our load
He carried us to safety
At risk of life and limb
We’ve come to mourn his passing
And sing our praise of him
For if more men were like him
The world would thus be blessed
For he who loved the turtles
Is better than the rest

· 10-5-92 Bill is always helping the turtles across the road and we told him someday he would get killed helping the turtles – so I wrote the above to send him – I drew an old fashioned tombstone with the words “Turtle Lover” under the rounded top of it and his name under that and then there are six turtles all standing around the tombstone looking at it. I cannot draw the picture with the computer so description will have to do.

"Help You To Heal"

(170)

“Help You to Heal”

The pain and the heartache
The suffering and tears
The loss of your loved ones
The sorrow the fears
Lean now on Jehovah
Let him take your load
He’ll guide and direct you
Along this dark road
In times of deep mourning
Your heart wants to break
Jehovah will hold you
Your pain he will take
With arms wrapped around you
His comfort you’ll feel
For he will protect you
And help you to heal

Prov. 18:10 “The name of Jehovah is such a strong tower. Into it the righteous runs and is given protection.”

"Little Fingers"

(1032)

“Little Fingers”

Little fingers now appear
Before me here today
Wonders of the universe
A baby’s come to stay
Spread those fingers wide young man
And reach out thus to grasp
Worlds of wonder you will find
And hold within your clasp
Day to day you’ll touch the things
The world will bring to you
You will learn of wonders still
Yet just ahead tis true
Of those tiny fingers here
That reach out thus to me
They are touching wonders found
And others yet to be

*12-29-05 written for Oliver Maxwell Cox, I went into rhyme during the meeting after seeing those tiny fingers reaching out and waving like he was searching to grasp something. Oliver is around two weeks old at this point.

"Small Beginnings"

(954)

“Small Beginnings”

I got to see a river
A mighty one I hear
It starts out just a trickle
That’s just knee deep or near
I stood beside that “trickle”
And thought about the day
I’ve crossed that mighty river
Along her distant ways
I’ve crossed her in St. Louis
Dubuque and New Orleans
I’ve crossed her in the daylight
And night time to it seems
But never thought I’d stand there
To see that trickle run
To see her small beginnings
To know what’s just begun!

*6 -26-04 about visit to Itasca State Park in MN to see headwaters of Mississippi River on 6-06-04 Shelly Tuttle took me

"Love Among The Memories"

(255)

“Love Among the Memories”

There’s love among the memories
A mother’s face I see
So joyous young and tender
It reaches out for me
The pictures of my childhood
Reach back across the years
With mother there beside me
She eased away my fears
She’d kiss away the heartache
And chase away the pain
Then wash away the teardrops
And make me whole again
If memories were rubies
Such riches there would be
For always in my memory
A mother’s face I see.

· 1-17-93 Mom and I were looking at pictures and all the memories associated with them

"Hanging On Nothing"

(550)

“Hanging on Nothing”

It hangs upon nothing
This orb that we ride
That god has created
With joy and with pride
The earth in its glory
Is soon now to be
For god in his wisdom
Will soon set it free
He’ll sponge it and wash it
And rinse it at last
Thus form a new kingdom
Erasing the past
The earth will be shiny
Will sparkle and glow
A place where god’s servants
In comfort can grow
“How wise now the maker!”
These words we now cry
This orb that we’re riding
Around him will fly
Though hanging on nothing
And silent and free
A jewel of great value
It has proved to be
For earth wide with pleasure
God’s message has spread
The old world has ended
With all of it’s dread
Thus now as we’re riding
This glorious sphere
We’re hanging on nothing
With nothing to fear

* 3-29-98 about talk given by Gordy Turek – used Job 26:7

"Rustling"

(879)

“Rustling”

Do you hear the rustling
Bible pages turn
Thousands are now reading
Listen to them learn
Softy oh so softly
Seeking what they’ve heard
Quietly they’re looking
Searching through his word
Eagerly advancing
Verse by verse they go
Learning, loving, reading
Verse by verse they grow
Gentle though the rustling
Following what’s said
They rejoice with pleasure
As God’s word is read

* 6-23-02 written during Bro. Meyberry’s talk entitled “Why You Can Trust the Bible”

"Names of the Apostles"

(667)

"Names of the Apostles"

Simon (2)
James (2)
Judas (2)
Andrew (brother Simon)
John (brother James)
Matthew (tax collector)
Thomas (doubted)
Nathanael (under a tree)
Philip (Nathanael’s friend)

Now there’s Simon and there’s Simon
And there’s James and then there’s James
And a Judas and a Judas
And their brothers and their names!!!
Now Simon has an Andrew
And poor James now has a John
And Nathanael in his wisdom
Has a tree to lean upon
Where there’s Matthew and his taxes
There’s a doubting Thomas too
Thus that leaves only Philip
Nathanael’s friend it’s true
6-8-99 about lesson for tonight I needed a

"In My Heart a Memory"

(1209)

“In My Heart a Memory”

In my heart a memory
A time I hold dear
Where loved ones now absent
Were present and near
Where we as a family
Together would stand
For life and its pressures
Its worries, demands
Weren’t things of importance
Weren’t things of the past
But were here and present
And would always last
But time has escaped me
And soon comes the morn
Where I will be absent
For others to mourn
Yet families continue
Descendants will grow
New branches are forming
Where new love will flow
Their loved ones will gather
Around them to stand
Where they’ll feel the comfort
Yet learn of demands
They’ll learn too of heartache
Of pain and sorrow
For they’ve come full circle
As they face tomorrow

* I was listening to the song “Family Tree” and went into rhyme over it. It is so true that we all look at our lives and the loved ones around us and do not reason on what lies ahead as the years roll by and loved ones start to disappear. The next generation is happy and content as the immediate family that they love are “present and near” and not absent as, in time, the years will tell them also.

"Heartache"

(1213)

“Heartache”

Such heartache is present
The pain you must feel
Yet each day, it’s passage
Can help you to heal
Though now, at the present
Your pain is too deep
Your heart is too heavy
Your soul thus will weep
Because of your sorrow
Your heart cannot see
That such pain and heartache
Will not always be
Your hope of the future
Will one day exceed
The pain you now carry
Your heart will not heed
Yet now for the moment
Your pain is so real
It’s hard now to reason
That you’ll one day heal
But someone is present
Of your pain aware
Who’ll wrap you in comfort
His spirit to share
The warmth of his presence
Will lesson your ache
For your sorrow, heartache
And pain he will take

*1/5/09 written for July Milosevic and her husband Stan as she lost her father. It does not matter just how old we get to be, Daddy is always Daddy.

"Moments"

(1217)

“Moments”

Yes, my “Boss” is missing
Your Mother more still
And though I’m not present
I’ll miss her I will
How pleasant the memories
I’ll hold in my heart
They’ll always be present
And never depart
How wondrous the moment
Your future does hold
Where you will be watching
Her face to behold
Remember behind you
On that special date
Another with pleasure
Does that face await
My joy will be watching
Your mother and you
And my heart with pleasure
Will fill for you too
Though now with such heartache
And deepening pain
Your tears will be falling
Like hard heavy rain
Your sorrow will lesson
And your heart will heal
For time and it’s passage
Will ease how you feel
You’ll bring up the memories
That now hurt my dear
Yet with them are moments
When laughter appears
Though now today present
There’s heartache and dread
Remember there’s laughter
For you yet ahead

*4/29/09 Sue Hinz lost her mother this last Monday and she is hurting so bad. When m my mother died Sue’s words are the ones that helped me the most and now I wish I could take away how she feels as it is a hard, heavy ache when you lose someone you love so much.

"Music"

(1218)

“Music”

Early though the music
To me has been brought
I awake from slumber
And my heart is caught
Wakened thus to wonders
Early mornings bring
For the birds are active
Of their work they sing
Music now surrounds me
Listen, can you hear?
Such melodious wonders
With the morn appear
Soon the suns appearance
Sweeps the away the night
But how its advancement
Brought me such delight
Yes! My day’s awakened
Joyous sounds prevail
With the morning’s chorus
Through this day I’ll sail!!

5/3/09 four in the morning, leg burning yet again but I at least get to listen to the wonderful chorus Jehovah provides this early in the day. Wonderful sound it is indeed, everyone should get up and listen to it once in awhile!

"A Remembered Date"

(1228)

“A Remembered Date”

A wedding approaches
A day to rejoice
A time filled with wonder
Where love will give voice
A present once offered
To one I hold dear
Is one I here offer
As your day grows near
A gift to my Grandma
On her wedding day
A way for my Grandpa
His love thus to say
It’s been ninety five years
Since this gift was first worn
I hope it with pleasure
A new bride will adorn

* 9-21-09 written for Danitza Stanoyevitch for her wedding. I gave her my grandmothers gold bracelet that my grandfather gave her on their wedding day. She is getting married on October 3rd, 2009. My grandparents were married in 1914.

"Empty Plate"

(1225)

“Empty Plate”

Another day another dollar
Another time another place
Filled your time with thoughts of money
And your plate with empty space
Yes, your soul is now quite hollow
And your heart now feels the pain
For your heart you’ve filled with sorrow
As your pockets filled with gain
Thus from all your time and effort
And from what you’ve left behind
Do you feel the void within you?
Do you need some peace of mind?
Seek to fill that void now present
Seek to find a peaceful day
Where your plate will fill with knowledge
Where your sorrow’s chased away
With these words I offer clearly
And with them I wish to state
When you turn to God Jehovah
He will fill your empty plate.

* 8-25-09 no reason just started thinking about those who seek or reach for money and not for a strong relationship with Jehovah.

"Within The Hedge"

(1224)

“Within The Hedge”

In the center of the city
In an area filled with crime
Lived a lady I’ll remember
Through the years of passing time
Though her home was small and humble
She her treasures would employ
Though surrounded by corruption
It was still a place of joy
Yes a yard filled with such pleasure
I can see it yet today
For my heart remembers always
And my memories will not stray
Yes my mind returns with pleasure
To a time so long ago
Where I found a source of wonder
And such happiness would grow
Where I’d sit upon the sofa
Neath a tree in her backyard
And I’d listen to the honking
Of a gander on the guard!
Yes, he’d warn of those approaching
For he’d hear them gather near
And she’d know by all his honking
That a stranger would appear
There were drugs and crime and horror
Just beyond her boundaries edge
But around her clear and present
Was a border or a hedge

For beyond that hedge were shadows
Where such evil could be found
But within the hedge surrounded
Is where sunshine would abound!
Yes her gander walked the border
And his work did with such care
For his friend he was protecting
With her turtle, cat and hare
Thus though time is always passing
I’ll be very much aware
Of the home that was there present
And the friends who’d gather there

* 8/19/09 written about a dear friends mother – who lived in Pacoima, California
